Who loves you baby?‘Oh What a Night’
Welcome to another night out with the Richard Britton Supporters Club. The setting was the Windsor Bar in Bangor on Saturday 18th April 2005. Doors opened at 7.30pm and what was about to happen was anyone’s guess.
Pretty soon the atmosphere was filled with chat in warm anticipation of what was ahead of us. Table after table were filled, just waiting for Richard to arrive and the racing to commence.
In total eight races were run, each one providing some butt clenching moments, just ask Liggy! A constant stream of hardened gamblers kept our ‘Chippendale Bookies’ busy. Race by race the momentum gathered. Between races, the crowd had chances to win more prizes from specially prepared named rider cards. Another useful attraction was from club member Roy Middleton, who gladly helped raise money, by selling limited edition prints of Richard in action. Some excellent prints Roy, thank you.
We are most grateful to Ultrascoot for supplying a mini moto and to Alan of Nice Bike for painting it in Richard’s 2005 colours. (DMRR replica). Ballots will be on sale from the Cookstown races until the North West 200. The winning ticket will be drawn by Richard after the racing on 21st May 2005.
All this together with a fully stocked bar and friendly staff on hand, kept the spirits high. Richard said a few words of appreciation for all sponsors on the night and all those involved in making the night such a success.
