Enniskillen rider Richard Britton will contest the 2004 Road Race season under the DMR Racing banner in the 600 Supersport class.

Announcing details at the launch of the 2004 North West 200, Britton said, "I can not wait to get the season off, as I am really looking forward to working with Des Moore of DMR Racing".

The machine which Britton will race on in 2004 is the ex Michael Laverty Vitrans CBR600RR Honda which was regarded as one of the fastest 600 in the British Supersport Championships last year. The machine will again be tuned by ace Dutch tuner Ten Kate who has been successful at European and World level in the 600 class. Des Moore, of DMR Racing who has purchased the machine for Britton is no stranger to speed sport.

The 40 year old Keady man contested the Irish Rally championships for 13 years before he turned his attention to the two wheeled side of things. Moore said that he was really looking forward in working with Richard Britton.

" I was in attendance at last years North West 200 and said to myself that I wanted a bike of mine out their in the action. I travelled over to the NEC Show in November and met up with Ten Kate and we struck up a deal to purchase one of the Vitran Hondas that Michael Laverty rode last year. I also agreed terms with Ten Kate to prepare the bike for us through the season. All I needed was a rider and Richard was the man. He’s a winner and not a crier, and he sells good PR which I want out of the racing, so he was the perfect rider for me" concluded Moore.

For Britton, this is the perfect package. To have one of the quickest 600 Hondas in the country is awesome. I am really excited about the new season. The bike is a proven winner and with Ten Kate's help, makes the bike and even more exciting venture".

The DMR 600 Honda has been designed and painted by Alan Finlay of Nice Bike in Ballywalter, with Shell Oils - NGK - Pirelli Tyres - Arai Helmets - Micron - and the Richard Britton Racing Supporters Club all backing the Enniskillen rider in 2004.
