Richard sets off Isle of Man

The 2004 Isle of Man TT races awaits Enniskillen’s favourite Road Racer as the Richard Britton Racing Team await Saturdays Formula One Race.
Richard and the crew set sail for Mona's Isle via Heysham and arrived on Wednesday afternoon. On arrival, there was the usual quarrelling about were and were not to park Richards 40ft Transporter. Even though the new 2004 review of the TT stated that the paddock would be a single unified area, that does not seem to be the case as Suzuki, Yamaha, and Honda were only granted permission to park at the top end of the paddock.
Richard then travelled back home to Northern Ireland on Thursday for Davy Woods funeral service on Friday and will travel back to the Isle of Man on Saturday morning in time for Saturday evening practice.
The PJ O'Kane 1000cc Suzuki will again run in the TT Formula One and Senior races.
The DMR 600 Honda goes in the Junior 600 Race with Richard also taking in the Production 1000cc and 400cc races.
"I’m looking forward to the TT this year, but I did not get much of a run out at the North West with one thing and another. Still, the TT has usually plenty of practice time available to dial yourself in. Of course, Davy's (Wood) passing has put a bit of a dampener on things for me. This will be my first TT without Davy’s help; however, I believe that he will still be around me in the paddock. How I would love to win for him this year. I think the 600 race holds a really good chance for me this year. If the DMR Honda goes well she will be hard to beat. Patsy's big bike is flying. It’s all down to me to ride the wheels of the thing. Our Production 1000 Suzuki should be a match for any bike out there, but there again, it’s all down to a little bit of good luck and me basically. With practice just a couple of days away, I will bring you all up to date with how I get on each evening. So, kept those fingers crossed for me. See you all soon" said Richard.
