NW 200 Misery loomed over Richard Britton
Misery loomed over Richard Britton in the final practice for Saturdays Junction One International North West 200 on Thursday evening with machine problems, and minor crash and rain hampering Britton’s process as the night went on.
In the Superbike qualifying session, Richard finished up 13th fastest and will start in the fourth row of the race.
"The Rizla Suzuki was all over the place tonight. Once I hit 5th gear and around 140mph, she just wanted to wobble her head all over the place. The Crescent boys think they know what is wrong and I will be trying her out on Friday somewhere to try and correct this".
In the 600 Practice session, Richard qualified in 10th position after coming to grief at the Start and Finish chicane. "I just came in to hard. I had to go wide and I tried to ride the kerb and down I went. I was perfectly OK and there is little or no damage to the DMR Honda. Add to all this and it rained just before practice began, so it was a night to forget. I don't know if I can make up all that much ground from the fourth row of the Superbike class but if the bike is sorted, anything is possible" said Richard.
Richards’s old sparring partner Adrian Archibald was having little or no luck at all in the Superbike practice. He failed to qualify and a Stewarts meeting on Friday afternoon will determine whether or not he will start the Superbike races on Saturday. Topping the four class's on Thursday night were,
