Sept 18th 2008 - In memory of a great man we remember Richard three year's on.
The end of season meeting at Killalane always brings up fond memories of Richard as this was to be his last ever win which many will fondly remember. There is no need to look very far at any event to see memories of Richard popping up and indeed at the 2008 Killalane meeting a replica of his helmet was one of the many items visible around the circuit.
We again would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you that have supported the DVD fund for Loris and we can reiterate that the site is here to stay indefinitely. The fund is still running and all money still goes to the Loris Britton Fund.
If there are any memories you have of Richard and events that happened this year or indeed any year, why not send these to info@tuttiwebs.ie and lets build a new section for the site and enjoy your memories and comments on the great man.
To all Richard’s family and friends we salute you and quietly remember Richard on the third anniversary of the ‘Peoples Champion’.
We had a difficult season with the loss of Martin Finnegan. I think it can safely be said that both were artists in their own right, creating memories that will be remembered in history for years to come. These people are not gone. Their energy has only moved to a different place. It is a proven fact that energy cannot be destroyed and manifests itself in other ways. Embrace that and nothing gets lost. Live in the moment – forget past and future – the present is exactly that! ‘A Present’.
Loris Britton Fund
Friends, fans and supporters of Richard Britton due to the tragic death of Richard on the 18th September 2005 Brian Farrell (Tuttiwebs) and myself ( John Hope ) contineu to run the benevolent fund for Loris Britton. The idea is simple; you can make a donation to the future welfare of Loris through the Richard Britton website. The difference is that if your donation is in excess of £8/€10 you are entitled to a FREE copy of a promotional DVD compiled by John Hope for Richard at the beginning of the 2005 road racing season.
This DVD features action clips of Richard aboard the green liveried bikes, the first DMRR 600 and also previously unseen onboard footage from the 2004 Isle of Man TT. This is all set to music and a further photo gallery of action shots and career history, also set to music is in the second part of this DVD. The DVD will come in a memorial cover and will serve as a unique and memorable reminder of how great a rider Richard was. It is a rare item as it is the one and only compilation of its kind for Richard. We are convinced you will treasure this DVD as fitting tribute to the Great Man.
